Area Services

Thornton is located 10 miles north of downtown Denver, adjacent to Interstate 25 and within close proximity to Denver International Airport and the greater metro area. It was incorporated in 1956 and is part of Adams County. Thornton will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2006. There are more than 102,000 residents currently living in Thornton and the city encompasses 30 square miles. The current city-owned parks system consists of a total of forty-three parks as well as open space and trail systems.
