    Job Description
    Job Title: Coordinator, Marketing & Communications
    Position Status:  Full time
    Reports To:  Director of Marketing and Communications
     
    OBJECTIVES AND PURPOSE
    The Marketing and Communications Coordinator position is responsible for supporting the planning and implementation of the Chamber’s strategic marketing and communications plans with particular focus on increasing membership engagement in Chamber’s programs, services, and activities. Successful execution of this role will potentially lead to additional responsibilities in the future.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Assist in the planning, coordination and implementation of the Chamber’s strategic communications and marketing plans for all Chamber events and programs that includes:  
    • Coordinating all marketing and communications plans for events, programs, and initiatives including designing and/or conceptualizing invitations and collateral pieces; coordinating related media efforts; coordinating advertising, etc.
    • Staying abreast of new members, renewing members, marketing benefits available at each level of membership, and the retention plan.
    • Tracking the success of all Chamber marketing and promotion campaigns.
    • Promotion of the Chamber’s activities on social media platforms and coordination of the Chamber’s social content schedule and tracking of engagement across multiple platforms.
    • Monitoring of Chamber’s social media platforms and responding to stakeholders when appropriate.
    • Blog posting and monitoring: coordinate the scheduling and posting of business blogs.
    • Tracking member marketing benefits and coordinates the member marketing tracking system.
    • Updating website content, events pages and other dynamic content on a regular basis in part to ensure sponsor and partner recognition and other graphic updates.
    • Posting and distributing Chamber news releases.
    • Assisting with the creation, shooting and posting of video content.
    • Coordination of member-paid advertisement calendar and member benefits ad and e-blast calendar.
     
    MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS 

    A Bachelor’s degree in business, education or related area; or the equivalent in acquired on-the-job experience
     
     
    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
    At least two years of recent related experience in a business, education, chamber of commerce or closely related environment, which includes the following:
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines; strong verbal and written communications skills; excellent public-relations skills; exceptional attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Chamber team members and volunteers and ability to work independently.   
    • Must be experienced with social media technologies including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
    • Strong graphic design skills and knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign.
    • Videography and/or video editing skills are a plus.
    • Effective writing and editing skills; strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Customer service skills and knowledge of professional etiquette.
    • Driven, possesses a desire to grow professionally.
    • Possession of a valid driver’s license.  
    • Innovative, creative thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to communicate in an effective, influential and concise manner.
    • Ability to represent the Chamber in a professional and enthusiastic manner, consistent with the Chamber’s mission and vision.
     
    Please note that the Marketing & Communications Coordinator is encouraged to attend all Chamber functions (including some nights and weekends) in order to be active in the Metro North Chamber and maintain a visible and positive representation for the organization.
