    Job Description
    Job Title:                             Events and Program Coordinator
    Position Status:                Part-time (20 hrs. per week)
    Reports To:                         Director of Events and Programs
    The Events and Program Coordinator position is responsible for supporting the events and the logistics required for the programs at the Metro North Chamber of Commerce. Successful execution of this role will potentially lead to additional responsibilities in the future.

    • Supports the Director of Events & Programs with strategic creation, planning and execution of Chamber events.
    • Coordinates the Chamber’s Ribbon Cutting schedule for new members.
    • Supports event registration, sponsorship tracking and member engagement at all events and programs.
    • Communicates with stakeholders to collect all necessary information and materials associated with event and program sponsorship.  
    • Supports pre-event logistics – including registration, name badges, coordination and production of collateral materials, and site visits.

    • Supports post-event follow-up – including thank you notes, thank you letters and surveys.
    • Attend events and support the team as needed.

    • Supports the creation and updating of registration and website content and other dynamic content on a regular basis in part to ensure sponsor and partner recognition and other graphic updates.
    • Supports the Director of Events & Programs and other team members with the strategic planning and management of Chamber programs, including: LEADS Groups, the Metro North Young Professionals Network and the Metro North Chamber Ambassador Program.
    • Supports with researching and implementing new Chamber programs that support the Chamber’s initiatives.
    • A Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, event planning, business, education or related area; or the equivalent in acquired on-the-job experience
    • At least two years of recent related experience in a business, education, chamber of commerce or closely related environment, which includes the following:
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines; strong verbal and written communications skills; excellent public-relations skills; exceptional attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Chamber team members and volunteers and ability to work independently.  
    • Must be experienced with social media technologies including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
    • Graphic design skills and knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign helpful.
    • Effective writing and editing skills; strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Customer service skills and knowledge of professional etiquette.
    • Driven, possesses a desire to grow professionally.
    • Possession of a valid driver’s license. 
    • Innovative, creative thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to communicate in an effective, influential and concise manner.
    • Ability to represent the Chamber in a professional and enthusiastic manner, consistent with the Chamber’s mission and vision.
    Please note that the Events and Program Coordinator will need to attend most Chamber functions (including some nights and weekends) in order to be active in the Metro North Chamber and maintain a visible and positive representation for the organization.
