 Westminster lies in the Northwest quadrant of the Denver metropolitan region, equal distance between Boulder and Denver. It is bisected by the U.S. 36/Boulder Turnpike and is adjacent to I-25. West 104th Avenue crosses the city and provides direct access to Denver International Airport. Westminster is 33 square miles in size with a population of over 106,000 residents. It was incorporated in 1911. Westminster is home to the Westminster Promenade, a unique, outdoor pedestrian-oriented entertainment complex. The Promenade is anchored by four major facilities: AMC 24 Theater Complex, the Sun Microsystems Ice Arena, The Westin Westminster, and the Butterfly and Insect Pavilion.
